Russia officially invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. In an attempt to conquer de capital, the Russian Army attacked the city of Kyiv, the towns and cities in Kyiv Oblast and parts of Zhytomyr Oblast.

The funeral of legendary commander of the 1st mechanised battalion
The funeral of legendary commander of the 1st mechanised battalion "Da Vinci Wolves" Dmytro Kotsyubailo "Da Vinci". He was awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" during his lifetime. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, honored the memory of the hero during the memorial ceremony at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral. He awarded the "Cross of Combat Merit", which was accepted by his mother, Kyiv, Ukraine - 24/02/2022.

A year later the war is far from over. Russia's attempt to conquer the country was met with fierce resistance by the Ukrainian people - who continue to fight for their country.

An undisclosed location offered by an anonymous benefactor in Kyiv for children victims of the war zones, orphans and abused. Maksym Strykhar, war frontline chaplain, involved in numerous humanitarian actions in Ukraine together with famous singer Taras Kompanichenko, were visiting on this day, to cheer these kids and bring them some joy. Children in this war launched by Russia are the most innocent victims and suffer undescribable consequences.

The capital is repeatedly under attack from drones or missiles - although most are intercepted or destroyed before they can cause the destruction they were intended for - the city and its people still suffer the consequences and the loss of defending from the attacks.

A high rise building in the Solomyansk district in central Kyiv was struck by a Russian missile that evaded the Ukrainian air defence systems in the early morning hours. Reportedly it was one or a fragment of 14 intercepted missiles fired on the capital in the early hours of the morning. Three deaths known so far, two victims hospitalized and 9 people received treatment on the spot, Kyiv, Ukraine - 24/06/2022
